Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior Manager OQ, Digital & Strategy to join our Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain organization located in Wilson, North Carolina.

This role may require periods of increased travel to support startup activities based on functional needs and project timelines. In some cases, this could involve frequent travel and/or short-term stays with vendors, sister companies, or partners. In steady state, we expect travel to be <10%.

The Senior Manager, OE, Digital & Strategy is responsible for leading and driving operational excellence across our manufacturing site. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement, develop strategies, and implement process enhancements to optimize operations and maximize efficiency. Your role will involve analyzing data, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving change management efforts. This role will play a critical role in enhancing productivity, reducing operational variability/costs, and improving overall business performance.

At the same time this role is responsible for ensuring ongoing organizational design and site strategy are positioned to drive optimal performance and meet current and future business needs. The role will ensure the site has the digital infrastructure to enable optimal performance and is in line with our Digital and Operational Excellence Technology strategy.

This role will additionally have the unique opportunity to develop from the very beginning (site startup) a winning methodology and approach through global benchmarking and the leveraging of the J&J Production Systems methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with site leadership to develop and align the operational excellence strategy with the overall organizational goals and objectives.

Data Analysis: Lead a team to utilize data-driven insights and analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational improvements. Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to track progress and communicate results to stakeholders.

Process Optimization and Digital: Leverage the power of the team to identify and evaluate operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement across various departments. Develop and implement strategies, including digital solutions to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

Lead the site digital strategy in coordination with platform and sector digital manufacturing strategy.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Kaizen events, and other improvement frameworks. Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process enhancements.

Lead operational excellence team and oversee large-scale operational excellence projects from initiation to completion. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Drive change management initiatives by engaging and influencing key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Develop and implement communication plans to ensure successful adoption of operational excellence initiatives.

Lead site strategy development. Collaborate with site leadership to develop site strategy balancing short-term versus long-term needs while aligning with Platform and Sector strategies.

Lead site digital team. Develop strategy & implement digital solutions and digital ecosystem for site in alignment with digital operating model.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration, or relevant field.

A minimum of 10 years supply chain experience that demonstrated ability to manage drive operational performance improvements.

A minimum of 5 years of people management experience

Expertise in Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies and tools (Master Black Belt/Black Belt certification preferred).

Strong understanding of digital and manufacturing systems.

Ability to shape and execute strategic initiatives.

Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change management efforts.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data for informed decision-making.

Project management experience, including defining project scope, managing timelines, and resources.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

A continuous improvement mindset and passion for driving operational excellence.
