Description
Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Site Digital & Technology Manager to join our Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain organization located in Wilson, North Carolina.
This role may require periods of increased travel to support startup activities based on functional needs and project timelines. In some cases, this could involve frequent travel and/or short-term stays with vendors, sister companies, or partners. In steady state, we expect travel to be <10%.
J&J is expanding our manufacturing capacity with $2 billion investment to support strong portfolio growth and continue delivering breakthrough innovation and transformational medicines for patients. The successful candidate will be a member of the Digital & Technology group, leading a team of Data Science professionals. They will shape the technology strategy within the team and the site, focusing on data democratization, systems, infrastructure, Industry 4.0/IoT, and visualization tools. They will also have sound experience and knowledge of the data analytics environment and a strong ability to coach and mentor project leads and teams to develop required leadership and technical skills.
The person will be an innovative, customer-centric and results-focused individual with excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills. A strong decision maker who will partner with site functions and other Johnson & Johnson sites and will consistently demonstrate integrity and Credo-based actions. They will have a focus on patients and a willingness to take ownership for completion of tasks.
This role will additionally have the unique opportunity to develop from the very beginning (site startup) a winning methodology and approach through global benchmarking and the leveraging of the J&J Production Systems methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and developing team members to meet business needs and providing highly capable leadership, coaching, and mentoring of others engaged in delivery of projects.
Supporting and embedding an innovation culture in the team by applying lean practices and using this capability to demonstrate value in the optimization of existing Digital & Technology programs.
Establishing team goals that align with the organizational goals and business/operational needs, measuring these goals and ensuring that specific targets are met.
Prioritizing and scheduling activities to support the project workstream needs and to meet the requirements of the site Digital & Technology roadmap.
Coordination and management of project workstreams including development, maintenance and control of project budgets, and capital requirement plans.
Develop, maintain & control Project budgets, Capital Requirement Plans, and Budgets
Business relationship management, ensuring business requirements are met and effective communication occurs with partners to secure cross-site and global alignment on critical initiatives.
Strong collaboration and connection with our global Digital and Technology team
Compliance with all relevant safety and quality compliance measures and programs throughout the entire project lifecycle delivery.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration, or relevant field.
A minimum of 6 years related experience proven experience within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated manufacturing environment
A minimum of 2 years of people management experience
An ability to operate as part of a team in a highly interdependent environment is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong influencing, mentoring, coaching, and leadership skills are required to motivate and align local, remote, and virtual teams and partners to support delivery of our programs.
Track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative partnerships at all levels in an organization including internal and external partners.
Technical understanding of regulated manufacturing processes and systems in Operations, Maintenance, Quality, etc. and strong knowledge of complex technology-based solutions, enabling the individual to lead process innovation and fast, flexible implementation.
In-depth knowledge of the ISA S95 & S88 standards and how they should be used within the global supply chain. Good appreciation of how Industry 4.0/IIoT can effectively transform BioPharma within this framework.
Preferred:
Experience in program leadership and delivery within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated manufacturing environment
Good understanding of the key technologies to enable faster, better, and more efficient manufacturing of current and future product modalities.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional global teams.
Positive relationship development, conflict resolution, and team building instincts.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to convey complex concepts and ideas to diverse audiences in a way that is easily understood by others.
Excellent listening, analytical and facilitation skills.
Organized and capable of leading people and helping them through the challenges of change within a sophisticated environment.
Excellent strategic and tactical thinking ability, complemented by a “hands-on” operational and business planning orientation.
