Job Summary and Qualifications

The Labor & Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The L&D RN will treat expecting mothers providing support before, during and after labor. In addition, the registered professional nurse is responsible for the direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering said patient care.

What you Will Do in this Role:

Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation

Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team

Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues

Evaluates the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus

Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean Sections

Act as an advocate for patient safety

Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment

Educate patients regarding their medications ,procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

What qualifications you will need :

Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or

Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision)

Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred

Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

NRP & AWHONN Certifications (30 Day Grace Period)

1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required

Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within30 days of employment start date
