GDIT provides enterprise-wide IT services supporting US Southern Command’s (SOUTHCOM) mission-critical operations throughout their Area of Responsibility (AOR), which consists of Central America, South America, and select countries in the Caribbean. SOUTHCOM is headquartered in Doral, FL.

GDIT SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) is working to deliver and operationalize information technology (IT) services for all US SOUTHCOM combatant command constructed networks. These constructed networks span the US SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Work performed under this Task Order directly provides US SOUTHCOM a defensible, secure, modern, and efficient IT infrastructure across all combatant command-constructed networks.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
As the Director in this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing complex, high-impact projects that are crucial to our mission of improving public service outcomes. You will provide strategic direction and mentorship and ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope and budget.
Your responsibilities will include defining, managing, and monitoring the project portfolio, including schedules, performance, quality, risks, and budgets using appropriate tools and techniques. You will also be expected to help implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide leadership in requirements analysis, business rule creation, issue tracking and resolution, and user acceptance.
Establish a modern, high-performing software engineering organization with consistent and predictable software delivery through proven approaches, best practices, and strategies for scaling the team.
Improve and modernize developer skills in agile, DevOps, API creation, full stack development, and modernization using communities of practice, mentoring, and training.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, data management, and security principles experience building Software engineering teams, providing mentoring and professional direction for project-related tasks
10 years of demonstrated ability as a Software Engineering Leader.
5 years of experience directly managing Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams
7 Years experience supporting DOD IT operations.
Solid foundation in Data engineering methodologies and best practices.
Solid foundation in ServiceNow and MS356 Power platform
Firm understanding of using automates testing for software applications.
Prior experience delivering Power-BI, Microsoft Dynamics, and .Net user-facing applications and experienced all phases of development.
Able to work collaboratively with engineering partners.
Self-sufficient and self-motivated; can perform duties with little oversight.
Data Management: Experience in data governance, data quality, data integrity, and data security best practices, ensuring robust data management processes
Hands-on experience and expertise in manipulating data using tools such as Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks.
Role and Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, navigate your career path effectively, and achieve successful growth.
Education Required:
BA/BS with 15 years of experience, or MS with 10 years of experience.
Certification(s) Required:
DoD 8570 compliant:
IAT Level II or III Baseline Certification.
Computing Environment (CE) Certificate.

The likely salary range for this position is $160,650 – $217,350. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
