Do you have experience in commercial building inspections? As the Facilities Assessor, you will be responsible for traveling to over 400 County-owned facilities to perform condition assessments of mechanical and building systems that support site infrastructure. Perform visual inspections of county facilities systems (roofing, conveying, mechanical, electrical, life safety, plumbing, structure and interiors, accessibility, energy and or sustainability, pavement, glazing components, and envelop) using professional expertise and judgment to verify their physical condition and identify the need for replacement, repair, and optimization.
Train, collaborate, and coordinate with other internal staff, subject matter experts, and County departments.
Review of current Fire/Life Safety/Environment/Building code, policy requirements, and the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and any other public agencies, in order to have a comprehensive assessment of county building conditions and requirements for repair.
Conduct secondary scope validation of initial and repeat assessments to ensure condition index and system severity ratings are accurate and valid, and sufficient information is gathered to base scope development for building repairs.
Enter site information and manage data collected from facility assessments.
Conduct queries and analysis on facility condition data, and sort actionable items across a number of parameters including but not limited to cost, urgency, and type of work.
Work with other data analytics teams in the County (e.g., Archibus, Risk & Property Management, etc.) to integrate system data with other County data to ensure strategic decision-making of County-wide Asset Management.
Create comprehensive reports, and visualizations to present the information in meetings, and other environments in which reporting the conditions of County-wide buildings is necessary.
Ability to write reports with proper grammar, a professional appearance, and language that accurately reflects what occurred and flows so that it is easily read and understood.
Develop and maintain forecast budget models for operation and capital budget to measure trends and past performance, and recommend new opportunities for operational efficiencies.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of job-related experience.
OR- Bachelors degree in a job-related field AND one (1) year of job-related experience.
OR- Five (5) years of professional-related experience can be substituted for the degree at managements discretion.
A valid Florida Drivers license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional License or Certification in Building Inspection.
Experience in commercial building assessment.
Construction knowledge, Facilities Background, Commercial Property knowledge of single & multi-story buildings.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and ordinances.
American with Disabilities Act (ADA) knowledge.
High-quality skills relating to research and analysis.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
About Everything Else:
Starting Pay Range: $52,936.00 – $57,200.00, based on experience
