HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

As HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, youll support mechanical contractor throughout Port Saint Lucie / Fort Pierce. Pay Rate: The pay rate for this job is $25 – $32 / hour

Responsibilities:

Hours:  Monday through Friday 40 hours

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the requirements of each project.

Using appropriate tools and benders to construct sheet metal components, cold boxes, and other HVAC components.

Support the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products, including ductwork, fittings, and architectural elements.

Assist in the installation of sheet metal systems, such as HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Installing ridged and flex duct as well as ceiling and wall HVAC vents.

Handle and transport sheet metal materials, equipment, and tools safely and efficiently.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.

Qualifications:

Ability to report to and from the job site on a daily basis

Five years prior experience in commercial or industrial HVAC sheet metal work

Possess tools of the trade Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Prior experience in the commercial field required

Prior experience using hand tools and power tools required

Position may require a drug screen
