POSITION SUMMARY

The SFC Integrations Senior Accountant is responsible primarily for transacting all integration related activities post-go-live within SPG’s AIM Accounting platform including reconciliation and eventual absorption into the SFC (SPG Financial Center). This role is pivotal in shepherding legacy accounting functions from migration through stabilization within the SFC. This individual will report to the SFC Integrations Senior Manager.

Specialty Program Group is an insurance MGA industry leader continuing to grow organically and from mergers and acquisitions which results in a need to develop process improvements, system upgrades and align policies and procedures, all of which need to be effectively managed, communicated and executed to achieve the desired outcomes.

This role will be responsible for providing “hypercare” services upon migration, monitoring and clearing issues through stabilization post go-live, identifying and driving process improvements, solving complex problems, and implementing various initiatives as identified by the SFC Integrations Senior Manager to complete SPG’s strategic objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Resolve post migration conversion related issues

Monitor migration plan execution of accounting processes (with an eye towards integration into our shared services center known as SFC)

Monitor unapplied cash activity/backlogs as tracked and reported by Cash Apps for newly migrated entities only to ensure policy compliance and transition stability.

Monitor carriers for timely payments as tracked and managed by Carrier Payables for newly migrated entities only.

Monitor SPARC issues on newly migrated entities; assist in escalation and resolution of items as they arise (maintain and report on issue log).

Make manual and/or nonstandard entries until handoff to SFC

Convey key learnings/process improvement with SFC Integrations Senior Manager to incorporate into future SOPs

Other optimization projects, outside AIM migrations

Collaborate extensively to implement third party consulting initiatives

Understand, track and report the post migration issues log

Create and distribute reports to satisfy requests

Advise on process improvement recommendations to streamline Standard Operating Procedures to improve departmental accuracy and efficiency.

Participate in completion of key deliverables to ensure project success.

Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with all areas of finance & accounting and key stakeholders in Technology, Operations, Data Management, Legal and other areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

4-year degree required in Accounting or Finance

3 years of experience within a corporate accounting environment

Understanding of GAAP basics (Cash, AR, and AP account reconciliation principles, P&L recognition)

Intermediate Excel skills (such as vlookups)

Experience with interdepartmental functions Finance, Accounting, Operations, Legal, and IT

Interest in continuous process improvement (voluntary as well as assigned)

Demonstrated ability to document processes, meet timelines, and drive to execution targets

Preferred:

PMP designation, Lean Six Sigma training or other project management specific experience

Experience working with internal or external audit

Insurance industry accounting experience

Extensive working knowledge of AIM
