Position Details:

Hybrid position located in Lebanon, TN. Mon-Friday work from home, Tuesday -Thursday, In-Office Days.

Hours 8am -5pm

Position Purpose:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the purchasing function for the business, including customer service and satisfaction, management of working capital through inventory management, hiring, training, coaching and counseling of all staff members; and achieving corporate goals as established by the senior management team. Functions as leader within the department and member of the senior leadership team, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Supervises function to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.

Manage inventory which best enhances the company’s financial position. Manage inventory to achieve optimum working capital (DSO days and dollars), obsolete inventory, cash flow, EBITDA contribution, and customer satisfaction. Develop relationships and programs with suppliers that drive bottom line performance through efficiencies, brand growth and market position.

Interact with customer and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure customers and vendors questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Establish the standards for customer service and ensure the department meets those standards. Maintain fill rate service levels to company’s standards. Hold suppliers accountable for inbound performance.

Establish and continuously improve processes and procedures which increase the efficiency of the purchasing department and allow the department to function at a high and consistently improving level of productivity.

Improve purchasing strategies and processes based upon knowledge of the food distribution industry. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and continued development in the foodservice industry.

Work with the senior leadership team, procurement department, PFG corporate and customers to create creative solutions for the business including SKU rationalization and growing PFG brands.

Set a standard of professional and collaborative behavior when interacting with other departments, leaders, company personnel, customers, vendors and other business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience:

7 – 10 Years

Track record of success and increased responsibility. Procurement and business supervisory experience.
