Essential Functions

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.

Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.

Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Job Requirements

Minimum EducationAssociate’s Degree Nursing (ADN) RequiredBachelor’s degree (BSN) Preferred

Required SkillsLicenses:Registered Nurse in State of KY
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months of hire.Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.Prefer National Certification in area of specialty within 2 years of hire.
Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, polices and procedures.Assists with call coverage. .Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
