Aston Carter is currently looking to hire an experienced Buyer for an opening on the North side of Columbus!!
Job Description
The candidate will purchase raw materials, equipment, machinery, components, and supplies at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery, and other factors for development and business operations. Work independently and with other purchasing and technical teams in performing a full range of procurement functions, including tool/part cost negotiation/evaluation, cost reduction research, assigned parts/parts procurement, supplier cost/quality/delivery management, and parts procurement delivery/administration. Acts as a liaison to suppliers and project design teams with minimal supervision, conducts cost assessments, monitors supplier quality/delivery, and relays changes in quantity, quality standards, and/or deadlines. The candidate will address quality issues and recommend countermeasures, negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met, and coordinate shipment/delivery with limited supervision. Supports planning and issuing Purchase Orders (POs) for all projects, confirms appropriate supplier selection for existing and new parts, and ensures required parts/lead times per drawing issue schedule/delivery dates, and specifications/procurement needs are met. Interfaces with suppliers to obtain Request for Quotes (RFQs) to establish target costs prior to project builds, analyzes supplier quotes, and negotiates costs for all projects. Coordinates parts procurement administration, including tracking open parts requests/orders/changes and generating Open Order Reports.
