Staff Accountant

Ohio Wesleyan University, selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Staff Accountant. This is a salaried, full-time position with benefit.
Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for accounts payable and various accounting functions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Account Payable
– Reading journal entries & transactions
– Account Reconciliations
– Monitoring Accounts for aged items
The role is also responsible for communicating with internal and external customers, reviewing and keying check requests and invoices.
Qualifications:
The Staff Accountant (SA) must have an Associates degree in accounting or a reflected field. The candidate must have two years of similar professional experience. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills with a customer service focus. A Bachelors degree is preferred.

– Ability to complete tasks with frequent interruptions from walk-ins
– Effective oral and written communication skills
– Fluency with Excel formulas and functions

– Ability to work collegially with students and University faculty and staff
