Hours M-F 8am – 5pm ET. Once a month, a late shift of 11:00am-7:30pm is required.

Position Summary:
The Lead Specialist plays a key role in a high-performing team, responsible for supporting commercial clients through telephone and written communications. This role includes the timely processing of commercial monetary transactions and both scheduled and non-scheduled loan maintenance. The Lead Specialist supports the growth and servicing of the commercial portfolio while delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. With some supervision, this position focuses on executing basic to moderate processing tasks, with opportunities to expand into more complex issues as experience develops. Additionally, the Lead Specialist will handle operational and administrative tasks that require occasional decision-making and escalate issues as needed. The ideal candidate will have a basic to moderate understanding of commercial loans and commercial loan servicing.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer moderate procedures, analysis, tasks, and reporting related to filing, recording, processing, servicing, and organizing documentation for commercial loans.
Review and ensure proper documentation or procedures are used for complex activities and check the work of less experienced employees.
Identify and resolve moderate issues according to established guidelines, escalating more complex problems to senior specialists or supervisors as needed.
Provide customer service for billing inquiries, service requests, suggestions, and complaints from customers.
Use independent judgment to recommend and implement programs to resolve complex issues, contribute to workflow and process changes, and develop a solid understanding of specific products or processes.
Conduct research and resolve requests by executing appropriate actions, ensuring timely and effective communication with requesters about the resolution.
Perform other assigned duties, including special tasks and follow-up for accurate and timely completion of transactions.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
Accurately and promptly process monetary transactions, including Dollar Transaction Forms and Loan Initial Funding Requests via the Centralized Funding process.
Balance general ledger entries via the Automated Posting Application (APA) to minimize account discrepancies and collaborate with the Accounting department to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Post DDA entries via APA to the Hogan system, issue cashier’s checks, and process outgoing wires based on service requests.
Handle requests received through departmental systems (Quest, databases, KeyView), including processing Fee Waiver requests, reapplication of payments, researching missing or misapplied payments, and producing payment history statements.
Perform maintenance transactions on the CLS system, such as setting up borrowing base ticklers, Advance Paydown ticklers, and other system changes related to monetary and indicative data.
Carefully and promptly review and take action on various reports to prevent potential customer impact issues and maintain system integrity.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
2 years of experience with a strong knowledge of commercial loan servicing.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.
Familiarity with systems like CLS/CL3 and LoanIQ is a plus.
