Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

• Help develop the company’s scale control product line by running mineral precipitation reactions. Responsibilities include calculating and performing dilutions, pipetting solutions, setting up reactions, making observations, and analyzing results by running atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA).

• Assist scientists in performing mineral flotation experiments. Responsibilities include grinding ore, pressing pellets, acid digestion, performing gravimetric analysis, and running x-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument.

• Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for moderately complex but routine tasks and analytical instrumentation, such as those mentioned above, and work independently once trained.

• Maintain a neat and organized lab environment by cleaning glassware and instrumentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.

• Use Excel to organize experimental data and send reports to scientists.

Hard Skills

Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related

1 year of experience in a lab

Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA)

X-ray fluorescence (XRF)

Gravimetric analysis

Excel

Soft Skills

Attention to detail

Organizational skills

This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Naperville, Illinois.

Work Environment

M-F, 8 Hours / day, 8 AM – 5 PM w/ an hour for lunch
