Composite Technician
Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Composite Technician to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
– Build composite components for air vehicles using appropriate lay-up techniques.
– Operate a broad variety equipment for cutting, kitting, and assembly of materials to include machines requiring understanding of computer software technology.
– Use hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner to shape and form simple and complex components.
– Prepare composite components for curing process in autoclave and/or oven by applying proper vacuum bagging methods and procedures.
– Ensure parts meet all quality standards and guidelines prior to presenting for inspection.
– Perform simple composite repairs when needed.
– Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company FOD (Foreign Object Damage) prevention program and complies with all safety regulations.
– Must be able to perform math computations, to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
– May work any shift and overtime.
– Comply with good housekeeping, quality, FOD, and safety procedures.
– Support other Aurora Flight Sciences sites as required.
– Perform other tasks as required by site leadership.
Minimum Requirements
– Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).
– Proficient in the use of computers and equipment which utilizes computer software technology.
– Must be a US Person.
Preferred Requirements
– Advanced vocational and/ or military technical schooling related to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance, or FAA licensed A&P a plus.
– Aerospace and/or manufacturing work-related experience.
Physical Requirements
– Must be able to work 2nd shift. New hires will be temporarily assigned to 1st shift during the initial training period then move to 2nd shift.
– Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
– Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
– Work onsite in Bridgeport, WV.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range: $30,000.00 to $53,000.00
Maximum Range: $36,000.00 to $64,000.00
