## Responsibilities

The Circle Development Manager is an integral part of the development team serving as a front-line fundraiser cultivating and soliciting gifts of $2,500-$10,000 and above and managing corporate sponsorships and partnerships. This role directs all aspects of the Circle program, its strategic direction and programming and assists the Development team in achieving personal and departmental goals, including collaborating with the Development team to identify, qualify, and refer prospective Circle donors for major gifts to build the pipeline of support.

– Circle Membership Program: Manages The Ringlings Circle program as a leadership annual giving initiative. Identifies, recruits, and enlists Circle Level donors and secures annual gifts in the $2,500 – $10,000 range. Meets an established annual monetary and participation goal for Circle Level membership program to be determined in consultation with the Senior Director of Development each fiscal year. Creates, schedules, and coordinates all programming for Circle Level members working with the Executive Director, Curators, Senior Staff, and Events teams to feature an array of programs representing the breadth of experiences offered at The Ringling. Facilitates Circle materials, invitations, mailings, program talking points, and event planning. Working with outside travel consultants, manages group travel opportunities for Circle Members. Protects confidential information.
– Program Sponsors Partners: Creates and manages the Sponsorship plan for The Ringling. Identifies, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of corporate, organizational, and individual donors who have the potential to provide underwriting support for the programmatic needs of The Ringling including exhibitions, educational, Art of Performance programs, and Ringling special events. Exhibits and promotes a comprehensive understanding of the philanthropic priorities of the unit, effectively matching the specific interests of prospects to those needs. Effectively communicates organizations mission and represents the organizations culture to external stakeholders. Cultivate strong relationships with donors ensuring they receive proper recognition and regular updates on the outcomes of their contributions through diligent stewardship efforts.
– Circle and Board Concierge Services: Provides outstanding customer service assisting Sponsors, Circle, and Ringling Foundation Board members with respect to their event registrations and tickets as well as accommodating their guests. Works with members of the Board in recruiting, welcoming, and mentoring new Circle members as well as the retention of Circle members.
– Development and Membership Support: Collaborates with the Development and Membership teams on ad-hoc projects that further departmental goals and objectives. Supports the Development Team in the coordination of donor and member related events, including scheduling and other related activities (tours, lunches, receptions). Performs other related duties as required and assigned which support the department and organizational operations.

– Travel regionally (Sarasota/Manatee/Tampa Bay area) and at times, domestically and internationally through The Ringling travel program.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Development.

## Qualifications

– Bachelors degree and four years experience in a related field or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
– Please note that higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
– Valid Drivers License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

## Preferred Qualifications

– A passion for and knowledge of the arts.
– Advanced degree preferred in the arts or humanities.
– General knowledge of the Sarasota philanthropic community.
– Professional experience in fund development in an arts or other nonprofit setting; experience in a related field with basic knowledge of personal solicitation methods may also be considered.

## Considerations

Working Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one hour meal period. This role is required to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, special events, and holidays based on the needs of The Ringling.
