Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Leadership and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating leadership and professional development programs within the organization. This role will focus on enhancing leadership capabilities at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and driving employee engagement and retention. The specialist will work closely with the Director of Learning and Development, HR team, and other key stakeholders to align training initiatives with the organizations goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Design and Delivery: Develop and deliver leadership development programs that align with the company’s strategic objectives, focusing on skill-building in areas like leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking.

Leadership Coaching: Provide coaching and guidance to emerging and existing leaders, helping them enhance their leadership effectiveness, decision-making, and team management skills.

Training Content Creation: Design, develop, and manage learning materials, including workshops, e-learning modules, and scenario-based learning to meet the diverse needs of the workforce. Add element of 70, 20 10.

Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and collaboration with department heads to identify leadership and skill gaps within the organization.

Learning Evaluation and Metrics: Measure the impact of leadership programs using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as employee engagement, retention rates, and leadership effectiveness surveys.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current on trends in leadership development and adult learning theory and incorporate innovative practices into the organization’s leadership development programs.

Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, such as HR and department leaders, to ensure that training initiatives are relevant, timely, and aligned with business objectives.

Leadership Pipeline Development: Identify high-potential employees and create development plans to prepare them for future leadership roles.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure all leadership development programs comply with company policies and applicable employment laws.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: Assist managing the company’s LMS, including content updates, tracking employee training progress, and generating reports for management.

Onboarding Support: Collaborate with HR and other departments to support onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring that they have the necessary training, resources, and knowledge to integrate successfully into their roles and the company culture.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND TRAINING:

Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and leadership development methodologies.

Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.

Ability to design and deliver engaging, high-impact learning experiences.

Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Experience with performance coaching and feedback techniques.

Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field or a combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in leadership development, organizational development, or training roles, preferably in a corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in leadership training programs such as Myers-Briggs, DISC, or emotional intelligence frameworks.

Experience with leadership assessments and 360-degree feedback tools.

Knowledge of learning technologies and digital training solutions.
