The Field Service Technician I will disassemble, reassemble, troubleshoot, and maintain vehicle
platforms on-site in Roush facilities, in offsite facilities, and remote locations. The Field Service
Technician I will communicate between employees, engineers, customers, and requesters
As a Field Service Technician l, you will:
– Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems to component level
failures experienced during operation
– Perform equipment updates to support testing of vehicle systems
– Communicate diagnostic findings to engineering staff for analysis and collaborative resolution
– Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) according to project expectations
and Technical Manuals (TMs) or work instructions
– Conduct daily meetings with team to brief on activities and program or project expectations
– Perform pre and post equipment inspections and report findings
– Assist internal activities with technical expertise related to issue resolution and warranty cases
To be considered as a Field Service Technician l, you will need:
– High School diploma or equivalent
– Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicle and
equipment systems
– Minimum of 2 years of diagnosing to component level and repairing newly integrated vehicle
and equipment systems
– Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, diagnostic equipment to include On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
– Proficient in working with Technical Manuals (TMs), wiring schematics, work instructions, work
orders and follow-up of historic troubleshooter findings and notes
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to interact professionally with others
and ability to prepare written technical reports
– Valid Drivers License
A successful candidate may also have:
– Certification in Engineering Technology or similar
– National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification
– Experience with automotive powertrain systems, alternative fuels or electric battery systems
– Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, diagnostic equipment
– Familiar with application of diagnostic software such as Ford International Diagnostic Software
(F-IDS), Ford Diagnosis and Repair Systems (FDRS) and Diagnostic Engineering Tool (DET)
– Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.)
and related components, component materials & fasteners
– Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
– Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
