Production Manager

Overview/Function: The Production Manager holds the day-to-day responsibilities to ensure the optimal manufacturing of quality Atlantic Bottling Company products. This key leadership role includes responsibility for all bottling and canning production lines, equipment maintenance, and production-related personnel.
Based on sales forecasting, they manage the production schedule, determine necessary personnel resources, and ensure quality standards and department budget goals are met or exceeded.
Major Responsibilities:
Directly manage all bottling and canning production lines, providing day-to-day guidance, leadership, and coaching while exhibiting the Tyler Tenet traits.
Work with sales forecasting, establish and execute production schedule, while minimizing cost and overhead, and managing production budget.
Effectively balance quality, productivity efficiency, labor cost, and safety to meet production goals.
Manage for high quality, food safety, and GMP compliance standards.
Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Cultivate and support a strong safety culture by leading and enforcing all safety regulations, and maintain clean and orderly department to ensure safety.
Identify and recommend production efficiencies.
Develop measurable team goals, action plans, and timelines. Guide department and drive teams towards acceptance and implementation.
Direct management responsibilities include, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, training, performance management, discipline, and personnel development.
Provide effective employee motivation and coaching and effectively resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
Ensure professional interactions with customers and visitors in order to favorably represent the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image.
Work with suppliers to manage inventory and ensure raw materials are readily available.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery targets, quality goals, and price metrics are achieved.
Various production-related reports.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of production experience. Will consider other equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Previous personnel management experience is expected.
Previous food-grade manufacturing background and keen understanding of food safety regulations is desired.
Previous food and beverage manufacturing and equipment experience is highly desired.
Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Must have strong problem resolution and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to read, write, follow process flow charts, and problem-solve are essential skills.
Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and direct others.
Strong decision-making skills are also needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous forklift experienced is highly desirable.
Good computer and MS Office experience are required.
Excellent team-player; Strong ability to effectively interact with multiple departments.
Highly-motivated self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
Additional:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position will spend their time on the production floor. As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment with loud noises resulting and will frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
This role is expected to be able to:
Lift 50 pounds up to shoulder height occasionally.
Lift up to 30 pounds above the head occasionally.
Reach, push, and pull objects occasionally using up to 20 pounds of force.
Climb stairs frequently in a wet environment.
Carry up to 20 pounds up six stairs occasionally.
Occasionally enter/exit the cab of a forklift.
The role involves constant standing/walking. Pulling, twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and keyboarding will be required.
The role will frequently require interaction with customers.
Some day-travel throughout other Atlantic Bottling facilities may be needed on occasion.
The typical work days are Monday-Friday, with varied hours based on production schedule needs. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
