Media Specialist I – Print Production Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS
– EDUCATION:High School graduate or equivalent
– LICENSURE: Valid Iowa Drivers license
– EXPERIENCE:Prior print production experience preferred, but not required. Experience using the following or similar equipment: production Xerox, laminators, HP large format printers, folding and binding machines and Challenge Cutter.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
– Represents Prairie Lakes AEA with a pleasant and friendly attitude.
– Maintains quality public relations with clients, showing courtesy and respect to patrons.
– Be able to work in a fast-paced environment meeting all deadlines. Must be able to work without supervision.
– Set up, operate and maintain machinery for the production of printed materials.
– Perform routine maintenance and repair equipment. Identify and report malfunctions.
– Complete job tickets in a timely manner with clearly written details of work completed and maintain a high level of accuracy in keeping records.
– Provide high quality of requested services including but not limited to printing, copying, lamination, folding, collating, cutting and binding, both machine-driven and by hand.
– Bemeticulous and attentive to the details, such as color, typography, layout, alignment, and resolution.
– Check and verify the digital files, proofs, and samples, as well as perform quality control and testing on the final print products.
– Demonstrate basic computer operation skills (e.g. starting, saving documents, running created databases and reports, shut down and printing), basic word processing skills, and database proficiency.
– Maintains a neat and clean work environment. Clear waste and clean work areas and machines.
– Wear appropriate clothing, maintaining a neat appearance. No open-toed shoes.
– Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
– Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing for long periods of time, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that cant always be anticipated.
– Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
