EDM/ Heat Treat Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Scope: This description establishes the duties
required to effectively perform the duties of the Special Process Heat
Treat Operator. This is a guideline, and not an all-encompassing
description. Purpose: The purpose of this description is to define the
reporting, authority, duties, activities, organizational, and external
relationships of the Special Process Heat Treat Operator. Reporting To:
Special Process Supervisor Position Summary: Responsible for Heat
Treating of various material types. Principal Duties and
Responsibilities: 1. Operates and monitors Heat Treating equipment
(Vacuum Furnace, Air Furnace, Deep Freeze). 2. Test parts hardness with
the use of hardness testing equipment. 3. Responsible for scheduling
jobs through area to be most efficient. 4. Responsible for daily
maintenance of Heat Treat equipment. 5. Must meet yield and Quality
Objectives. Additional Duties, Responsibilities, and Activities: 1.
Assists other departments as needed. 2. Other duties as may be necessary
to fulfill the responsibilities of this position; Education/Experience:
High school diploma preferred. Machining experience required. EDM/Heat
Treat experience preferred. Six months to one year of experience
preferred in manufacturing and blueprint reading. Direct Reports: None
Work Relationships: Works very closely with employees in the same and
other departments. Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in a
manufacturing environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Work
hours are normally during regular business hours and average at least 40
weekly; overtime may be required. Physical Requirements: Spends
prolonged periods of time sitting or standing. Some exposure to noise
and chemicals/solvents. May be required to lift, carry or push up to 40
