Cook Reports to: Bar & Restaurant Manager Job Summary: A Cook at the Duluth Curling Club plays a crucial role in providing quality food and service to members and guests, contributing to the overall enjoyment and success of the clubs activities. Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Collaborate with management or club officials to plan menus that cater to the preferences and dietary needs of curling club members and visitors. This might involve creating daily specials, accommodating dietary restrictions, and ensuring a variety of options for different tastes. Food Preparation: Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards. This includes cooking, baking, grilling, frying, and any other necessary cooking methods. Ensure that all food is cooked safely and meets health and safety regulations. Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean and organized, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. This includes regular cleaning of surfaces, equipment, and utensils, as well as proper storage of food items. Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to club members and guests. Take orders, answer questions about the menu, and accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions. Ensure that meals are served promptly and accurately. Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinate with other staff members, such as servers and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth operations during busy times. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to coordinate food service and address any issues that arise. Menu Development: Continuously evaluate and update the menu to keep it fresh and appealing to club members. Seek feedback from customers and management to identify popular dishes, trends, and areas for improvement. Special Events and Catering: Plan and execute special events, such as tournaments, parties, and banquets, which may require catering services. This involves menu planning, staffing arrangements, and ensuring that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards. Adherence to Regulations: Stay informed about health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and licensing requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
