Equipment Operator 1 Street

Job Summary/Scope
Operates equipment in the maintenance and repair of city streets. Cleans storm sewers and ditches after rains, cuts brush out of creeks, installs road culverts and builds and repairs headwalls. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

– Operates and maintains equipment including dump truck, back hoe, high loader, track crawler, chain saw, and miscellaneous power tools.
– Transports tools and equipment to jobs.
– Shovels and performs general labor tasks.
– Spreads salt and plows snow in winter.
– Installs guardrails.
– Cuts weeds and brush.
– Responds to emergencies as needed.
– Trims trees and branches to prescribed clearances over roadways.
– Hauls dirt, rock and other material.
– Operates a jack hammer.
– Sets up barricades.
– Operates snow blower in winter.
– Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
