We are seeking an entry to intermediate level CNC Machine Operator that has experience as a machinist in both CNC machine operation as well as manual machine tools. The position requires knowledge of machining techniques and methods and familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures, plus the ability to follow written instructions and read drawings. What you need to be successful:
• Knowledge of machining operations using recognized tooling and procedures, where tolerances are critical
• Knowledge of CNC, Lathe, Mill Turn and Manual machine operations
• Effective communication, relationship, time-management, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to drive continuous improvement processes and standards
• Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team
• Requires working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and basic algebra
• Ability to read detailed drawings or files, including drawings, sketches, and those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
What you get to do:
• Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces of completed products meet requirements
• Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
• Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment
• Enter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipment
• Monitor lubrication of equipment or workpieces
• Study drawings or other instructions to determine equipment setup requirements
• Insert and remove accessories, tools, or other parts from equipment
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning
• Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions and adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or products
Education and Experience:
This position includes entry level CNC machine operators with 1-2 years machine shop experience in setup and operating CNC equipment. Firsthand mechanical experience and/or training in the trades required.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts, may require some overtime work.
Pay: $21.00 – $32.00 (DOE)
