Summary
Materials Management Coordinator manages incoming deliveries by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading and storing the received items, delivering items/product to the correct requestor/department, processes all paperwork in a timely manner, and ensures that safety regulations are met. This also includes performing receiving storeroom oversight functions. The coordinator responds timely and accurately to all customer request to promote exceptional customer service and data entry skills.
Under the supervision of the Director of Safety and Organizational Compliance, the materials management coordinator maintains and track package reconciliations and mail distribution for the campus. The coordinator will review packing lists of purchase orders ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list. The incumbent will work day shift Monday – Friday.
Responsibilities
1. Manages the shipping, receiving, and distribution functions of the University to maintain efficient and customer focused services.
2. Responds timely & accurately to all customer requests to promote exceptional customer service and data entry skills.
3. Coordinates with the University finance specialist to ensure a timely resolution to any issues related to receiving are addressed.
4. Participates actively in all department performance improvement initiatives to enhance department productivity.
5. Coordinators needed inspection, handling, and sorting of department supplies as requested.
6. Tracks and maintains inventory logs for various equipment and supply levels to ensure a sufficient quantity as needed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Knowledge/Education – Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
Experience – 2 years experience in receiving, inventory control, and/or storeroom within a corporate or educational setting.
Licensure, Registration, Certification – Valid drivers license, ability to obtain a hazardous waste management training.
