This Co-Op position will be from January to August 2025 with or without reasonable accommodation
R&D Development
Learns multiple polymer chemistry types
Makes polymer batches with a focus on processing methods
Tests polymer batches for QC specification tests
Completes lab notebook and follows documentation procedures
Completes experiments in a design
Observes and assists in pilot polymer batches
Safety
Uses safe process techniques and good housekeeping
Follows ITMs and safety guidelines
Wears proper PPE
Attends all safety meetings or takes the make-up test
Sustains 5S
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Companys staff, employees, and business relationships.
Education
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
Current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program
Preferred
Chemical Engineering Major
2.8 GPA or higher
Knowledge & Experience
Skilled at Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must have access to local housing as well as reliable transportation
Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of from January to August with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred
Basic understanding of information technology infrastructure and computer platforms.
Working knowledge of Minitab and Business Objects.
