Position Description Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician I performs inspection and testing associated with goods receipt, manufacturing and service product release, First Part Review, and Component Qualification activities. Uses inspection systems, measurement methods, and documented processes to ensure output of quality product. Primary focus of the role is on components and finished goods product release for medical device capital equipment manufacturing and service. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Completes product release inspections of newly manufactured systems and serviced systems Completes required receiving inspections to ensure quality, conformity, continuous and uninterrupted flow of product to the manufacturing operations. Use established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs) to carry out the receiving inspection and product release activities, including First Part Review and Component Qualification projects. Identifies and uses the appropriate equipment and tools to achieve accurate dimensional measurements of parts to be inspected. Identifies product quality issues originating from receiving inspection and product release inspections and issues Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR). Communicates issues and opportunities to engineering department to ensure bill of materials (BOMs), prints, process, forms, records, etc. are relevant and up to date. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent 2-year technical degree, or 3 years of experience in lieu of degree 2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical inspection and testing of electrical and mechanical components and systems Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills Problem solving skills with the ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications. Ability to work within established guidelines and standard operating procedures.
