Tax Manager
Kedrion Biopharma, Inc.
The Tax Manager will support Kedrion US in all taxation and tax-related matters. Assesses manages and reviews key business areas to secure tax-related business matters are properly captures through ERP system. Liaison between appointed 3rd party Tax Advisors and Kedrion US.
Proactively and regularly reviews Kedrion US companies based on the call of business to cover all tax areas.
Preference to candidates that can work hybrid out of the Fort Lee, NJ headquarters, however candidates in other statest within the East Coast Time Zone may be considered.
Main Responsibilities:
X-ray Kedrion US entities for taxation and tax filing to assess and minimize fiscal risk in short-mid term.
Work with tax preparation vendors to support the preparation and filing of estimated and annual state income, premium and retaliatory compliance returns, payments, e-filing and any necessary workpapers.
Assemble and file other various state tax compliance: Sales and use, property taxes, assessments, and license filings. Maintain schedule for taxes.
Prepare/Coordinate Sales/Use tax filings with external consultants.
Work on transfer pricing arrangements
Be the number one contact for appointed 3 rd party Tax Advisors.
Prepare inputs and underlying documentation to tax filings by Tax Advisors.
Provide timely responses on external and internal correspondence.
Perform monthly tax accounting accruals and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Keep abreast of current developments in the state tax area.
Proactively interface with business areas throughout the company to identify process improvements related to taxation.
Participate in any other tax related projects determined by management.
Assist with federal and state tax audits.
Assists in yearly budgeting with tax calculations and estimates.
Proactively prepares and regularly updates tax payment plan.
Regularly review and adjusts cash flow planning to support Treasury department.
Provide backup assistance to other areas within Finance when requested.
Assist with registrations and de-registrations as needed for the Kedrion US entities.
Participate in tax courses organized and ordered by Kedrion US and keep up with most up to date knowledge on taxation.
Background and Experience:
6 years of experience in accounting or taxation
Ideal is 3-5 years of tax experience across multiple tax topics: Federal, state, transfer pricing, sales tax, property taxes, sale use tax etc.
BS in Accounting preferred
Understanding of federal and state tax compliance, payroll taxes and the life insurance and asset management businesses would be a plus.
Working experience with federal and state tax auditors
Good understanding of concept of transfer pricing and some practical experience of working on transfer pricing arrangements is mandatory for this role
Ability to work as part of a team is essential, should be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
Display an attitude of continuous learning and personal development.
Has experience applying problem solving skills to situations and can present resolution options to supervisor.
Works independently but knows when to reach out to the manager for assistance.
Strong time management, multitasking and prioritization of responsibilities skills.
Should be assertive and articulate in oral and written communications when interfacing with external contacts and internal business areas.
Understands that some overtime will be required during yearend and quarterly close periods.
Full proficiency in Excel and related data analytics, PowerPoint is a plus.
Ability to find tax optimization opportunities and communicate recommendations to business.
Experience with SAP ERP system, FI module.
Willingness to learn and continuously update and improve their knowledge on taxation.
Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the local organization.
Proactive and self-starter.
