This position is for a Wireline Network Operations Support intern. Some of the projects you may work on could enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Perform analysis on strategic initiatives to identify opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiency in business operations. This will include field visits to gain fundamental understanding of the work that is performed by field technicians that service our customers.

  • Learning about the wireline operations and the workforce practices and procedures including safety, fleet, customer operations, force planning, etc.

  • Evaluate business transformation initiatives and make recommendations on process or program improvements.

  • Analyze performance data to create greater impact to our field operations success

  • You will be able to perform initial analysis to assess the quality of data, a methodical and logical approach, and be able to apply excellent mathematical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Collaborate as a cohort with partner teams across the business to both learn and contribute to the completion of a project related to business priorities.

In this hybrid internship, youll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Morristown, NJ or New York, NY in a cohort. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

Youll need to have:

  • Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2 – August 8 2025.

  • Attending the Thurgood Marshall Conference in September 2024.

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree majoring in Communications, Business, Data Analytics, Strategy or related majors with a completion date between December 2025 and June 2027.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

  • Project management software (ex: JIRA).

  • Ability to create effective presentations.

  • Familiarity with business and data analytics.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
