Overview
The Manager of Inbound Scheduling plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Inbound Scheduling Department. In this position, you will lead a dedicated team, including the Scheduling Supervisor, Scheduling Specialists, and Scheduling Coordinators, as they expertly manage the allocation of inbound freight to Burlington’s distribution centers, supporting our broader Supply Chain efforts.
Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that our processes enhance customer service and streamline operations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the organization!
A Day In The Life:
Daily Communication: Maintain regular communication with Distribution Center Management, Inbound Transportation, carriers, and other internal/external partners regarding inbound scheduling operations to ensure alignment and optimal outcomes for all parties involved.
Collaborative Planning: Work closely with internal partners to develop flexible plans for onboarding new and/or important Burlington vendors, enhancing their overall experience with Burlington’s Supply Chain.
Schedule Management: Review and manage past, current, and upcoming schedules to ensure that all freight is organized according to the outlined expectations for each facility.
Problem Resolution: Tackle complex challenges affecting the inbound scheduling process or team, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the variable complexities within Burlington’s supply chain and systems.
Learning Environment: Foster a workplace culture that encourages continuous learning and professional development.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to the scheduling department’s processes, seeking efficiencies that benefit Scheduling and other areas of Burlington’s Supply Chain.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the Scheduling Department’s subject matter expert on all relevant systems (e.g., AM2, WMS, Jasper) used to execute daily tasks, and document key information in a centralized location for easy access and sharing.
Reporting Audits: Conduct audits and take action based on reports related to inbound scheduled deliveries, including Red Seal Reporting, Not In Yard Reporting, Estimated Inbound Reporting, and more.
Support Leadership: Provide proactive and on-demand reporting to leadership, offering insights on topics that impact the Scheduling Department or Supply Chain.
Youll Come With:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Transportation/Logistics.
Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other PC applications.
Strong ability to multi-task and problem-solve while communicating effectively with diverse groups on a daily basis.
Capability to work under pressure to achieve Company, Supply Chain, and Distribution Center goals.
Basic understanding of International Logistics is a plus.
