Production Planner

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain Management Team. The Production Planner plays a key role in ensuring that components are produced efficiently, on time, and an in line with quality standards. As a Production Planner you will plan and execute manufacturing workflow, coordinate production schedules, ensure timely delivery of components, and optimize production processes to meet customer demand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review Master Production plan weekly and use various production control programs for scheduling/forecasting/planning to meet customer on time requirements.
Release, identify, track, expedite, update, assist and locate production parts
Review materials and parts inventory required for production of assemblies using Engineering Item Details program.
Request kits to material control for building assemblies. Notify Manager of shortages in inventory
Coordinate the flow of materials, parts, and sub-assemblies between departments on shop floor as well as to and from suppliers, by ensuring the availability of equipment, tooling, materials, and labor.
Plan, coordinate and assist production operations to insure continuous workflow in meeting customer requirements
Review priorities and generate scheduling reports for each work center. Provide scheduling report to the respective supervisors.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with the Engineering, Methods, Quality, and Sales Departments to ensure continuous workflow to meet our customer delivery requirements.
Using computer system, assist in clerical support for the Production Control department. Also assist, update and file inventory records, shop packets and other related documentation.
Compare records on inventory, materials/parts requirements to ensure adequate programmed control data
Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, business administration or similar plus 1 or more years of related work experience
In lieu of degree, 3 or more years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of supply chain practices, including inventory management, procurement, and logistics
Proficiency using production planning software, ERP, MRP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail, conflict resolution, organization, and decision-making skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and Adaptable and able to adjust to shifting priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally
Computer skills i.e., excel, word, ERP, etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
Familiarity with mechanical components manufacturing processing
Ability to read Engineering Drawings/Blueprints
PAY RANGE: $65,000 to $75,000 a year
