As part of the Quality Assurance Team, the Quality Assurance Coordinator’s role is to manage and document all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality System ensuring compliance with regulatory, FDA’s FSMA, New Era of Smarter Food Safety (FDA’s Blueprint for the Future) and GFSI (SQF) requirements, ensuring audit readiness and compliance. Working in conjunction with the facility’s quality team and cross-functional teams to drive Upstate Niagara Cooperative’s strong Food Safety and Quality commitment through regulatory and GFSI compliance.
Responsibilities
Spearhead monthly review/revision of Food Safety/Quality System to meet regulatory and GFSI standards as per the Corporate Review Schedule.
Complete annual verification/validation of Food Safety/Quality System, FSMA Food Safety and Quality Plans, Prerequisite Programs, Identity Preserved Programs (Kosher)
Revise Food Safety and Quality Plans as mandated by process modification.
Continual update of GFSI required registers as mandated by program additions and modifications.
Assist during GFSI, customer and regulatory audits.
Ensure compliance to required meeting content. Including but not limited to: sending the meeting invitation, preparing the meeting agenda, maintaining the meeting minutes, assisting in the determination of root cause and corrective/preventive action for all nonconformances, implementation, and documentation of verification and of completion of corrective action. Monthly Management Review
Monthly CAPA Log Review
Monthly Food Safety/Quality Meeting
Monthly SQF Review Meeting
Quarterly Corporate SQF Review Meeting
Assist in scheduling of internal Food Safety/Quality audits and inspections.
Ensure internal Food Safety/Quality audits/inspections and regulatory inspections are completed as per schedule, findings added to CAPA log, required work orders submitted, root cause/corrective and preventive actions determined and implemented, verification of completion and close out of documented on the CAPA Log.
Assist with ongoing annual refresher training and the transition to the monthly training schedule.
Assist as requested by facility Quality Assurance Manager, on Facility Project Risk Assessment/Mitigation/Corrective Action/Hygienic Restoration and documentation.
Maintain Ingredient and Packaging Hazard Analysis, Food Fraud Assessment/Mitigation, and other SQF required Risk Assessments.
Assist with monthly review/SQF audit preparations of the Food Safety/Quality System at additional assigned facility. Syracuse would assist Rochester and Dale Road facilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong ability to learn new systems

Ability to handle multiple priorities at a time
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
HACCP, PCQI and SQF certification is a plus. Certifications must be obtained within the first year.
Food manufacturing experience is desired. Dairy experience is a plus.

Pay: $64.8k-$87.5k/year
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
