WGL – Sr Reporting Specialist

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develops work plans, creates documentation, conducts analyses, facilitates meetings, and oversees the timely completion of assigned tasks and timely delivery of internal and external reports.

• Analyzes data and develops reports for the business, state public service commissions and other state and Federal agencies using in-depth knowledge of corporate data and understanding of construction processes.

• Identifies and recommends process improvements arising from the regulatory reporting associated with the various public service commissions accelerated pipeline replacement programs.

• Correlates data across multiple platforms and related but disparate data sets, including PeopleSoft, Logica WMS, and G.E. SmallWorld.

• Tracks the progress of existing accelerated replacement programs using agreed upon metrics.

• Works with business units to identify future proactive Pipeline Safety Integrity programs including the mapping of processes and development of operational reporting.

• Obtains data and performs analyses that to support business unit decision-making processes, with the goal of improving corporate performance and compliance with public service commission regulatory reporting.

• Ensures consistency of approach and analysis across regulatory and management reports by identifying inconsistencies and correcting any problems.

• Performs comparative analysis of public service commission and Federal regulatory reports over time to ensure accuracy and repeatability and to document methodology and data sets utilized to produce various reports and filings in support of regulatory programs.

• Works closely with various business units (e.g. Replacements, Finance, System Planning, Mapping, IT, Operations, Construction, Engineering etc.) to develop and maintain knowledge of their systems’ data and business needs, as well as to produce processes and reports necessary to meet the company’s regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelors Degree Statistics, marketing, finance, information technology or an associated data analysis field.

• Masters Degree Statistics, marketing, finance, information technology or an associated data analysis field.

• 5 Years Minimum 5 years’ experience writing performance tracking reports and testimony; as well as performing financial and statistical analysis, data mining, and economic analysis using multiple systems.

• Demonstrated strong quantitative skills and ability to create, manipulate, and analyze large data sets

• Demonstrated ability to produce sound data-based documents and the associated narrative, including visualization of information, which creates meaningful information from data.

• Demonstrated ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information, including intermediate to advanced functions in Access, SAS, Oracle, and/or SQL.

• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors, subordinates and peers.

• Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple projects with competing timelines.

• Prior Energy industry experience preferred.

• Familiarity with analyzing and interpreting regulatory documents and a general understanding of the regulatory process preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $91,500 to $125,625 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
