The Ultrasound Tech performs ultrasound procedures that are complex and elaborate to assist the physician in the diagnosis of injury and/or disease.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Graduate or graduating within 6 months of hire from an accredited Medical Imaging Program
2.CPR certification required.
3. Must be RDMS certified within 18 months of hire.
4. Must be RVT certified if working in Vascular prior to hire.

1. Prepares and explains exams to patients.
2. Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area.
3. Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas in order to perform assigned duties.
4. Assists physician during specialty exam.
5. Demonstrates appropriate patient/family/self-safety practices.
6. Upon completion of exam, all paperwork is finished that deals with patient.
7. Participates in the education / oversight of orientees, ancillary staff, and students in collaboration with the preceptor, manager, and/or designated education coordinator.

2. Analytical skills necessary in order to implement effective care and develop solutions to problems concerning patients mental and physical well-being.
3. Ability to be scheduled for work based on the operational needs of the hospital.
4. Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
