This is a job for a Maintenance Technician position with a company located in the Prairie, MS area.
SUMMARY: This role will be responsible for installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of Process Control Instrumentation Systems in the facility. This position will assist in planning and specifying PLC/DCS systems. Perform mechanical and electrical tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: May include, but are not limited to, the following: Troubleshoot, program replace, and repair Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)s processors and HMI screens. Troubleshoot and repair Distributive Control Systems (DCS) problems. Troubleshoot 2300 & 480 A/C motors and D/C motors. Troubleshoot, repair and program variable frequency drives. Troubleshoot and repair weigh systems with load cells. Troubleshoot and repair air dryers. Assist in updating Plant Loop Drawings. Personal computer proficiency and other software use by the company. Be able to work alone and work well with others. Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot 4-20ma transmitters and electro-pneumatic control loops. Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot pneumatic control systems consisting of I/PS, solenoids valves, quick exhausts, actuators, control valves, regulators. Hardy weigh controller experience a plus. Knowledge of air compressors and vibration monitoring systems. Ability to read PIDs and loop sheets. Sap knowledge which includes converting notifications, planning work orders, ordering material, looking up spare parts and entering time and completing work orders. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent required and silver on WorkKeys. Associates Degrees in Electrical or PLC preferred. 3-5 Years Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Proficiency with Windows based software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) preferred. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Manufacturing environments includes dust, outdoors, high noise levels. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
