Job Title: Civil Process Engineer

Job Description

The Civil Process Engineer will specialize in water and wastewater treatment system projects. You will be a member of the local Grand Rapids Municipal Water Systems team, working collaboratively with other designers, engineers, and project managers. Projects include drinking water, wastewater treatment plants, water distribution mains, piping systems, pump stations, and sanitary stations. You will be involved in design, planning, and engineering for public and private projects.

Responsibilities:

– Water and wastewater engineering including water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution mains, collection system piping, booster stations, and sanitary lift stations

– Design, layout, and modeling for water and wastewater systems

– Support for permit and funding application

– Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates

– Water and sewer hydraulic modeling

– Assist with construction observation, monitoring of construction phase activities

– Work both independently and in a team environment under the supervision of a lead engineer or project manager

Required Experience:

Bachelors Degree in: Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering

EIT/FE, working towards PE license

1 years of experience with design of municipal water or wastewater treatment projects

Experience with AutoCAD for civil design projects

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

Multi-discipline, full-service client within the engineering industry that has project variety within multiple sectors including municipal, transportation, industrial/commercial, and private development. Offices across the state of Michigan, offering the ability to work at a local office with a day remote. Local office in Grand Rapids, where this position will be officed. 8 observed holidays paid. 2-3 weeks of vacation depending on years of experience.
