Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of analysis, review, and reporting for the Transportation, Warehousing, and Corporate Purchasing teams. Activities include: assisting with the budget and forecast process; monthly financial reporting and month-end close; tracking cost savings; supporting Supply Chain personnel with market research and analysis, data collection and analysis to ensure effective decision-making. This position involves interaction with cross-functional teams within Michael Foods. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop departmental operating budgets, including collection and cataloging of all backup documentation, preparation of budgets and all presentation material. Prepare monthly financial review materials, including but not limited to variance reporting, market-based dashboards, monthly forecasts, productivity and project tracking, and other performance metrics. Perform general accounting duties such as supporting the month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Analyze data and create financial models to support decision-making for Supply Chain leadership. Conduct market, industry, and carrier research that supports key initiatives. Provide analytical support for all department cost optimization initiatives. Preparation of ad-hoc financial analyses as needed. Own Transportation, Warehousing, and Corporate Purchasing related data maintenance within SAP and other areas/systems. Monitor and assure business process compliance. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 2-4 years of analytical experience; experience with Supply Chain financial analysis a plus. Strong experience in MS office, with advanced abilities in Excel required. Working knowledge of US GAAP, financial reports, and ledger systems. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others. Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with strong attention to details. Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP); SAP working knowledge a plus.
