The Principal Strategic HR Business Partner (SHRBP) is a senior-level role responsible for aligning the NABU operations business objectives with employees and management. The role acts as a consultant to NABU Operations management on Human Resource-related issues and a change agent to support and drive business goals. The Principal SHRBP anticipates HR-related needs, develops integrated solutions, and ensures effective implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to improve organizational performance.
This role can be based out of the following locations: Minneapolis, MN; Holland, MI; Louisville, KY
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management on all HR matters.
Partner with business leaders to drive a high-performance culture and ensure alignment of HR strategies with business goals.
Talent Management
Oversee talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain high-quality employees. Manage external staffing agency partner relationships.
Develop and implement talent management strategies, including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management.
Identify training needs and create or procure professional development opportunities for staff.
Organizational Development
Lead organizational change initiatives and provide support and guidance on workforce planning and other organizational design activities.
Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement and development.
Conduct organizational assessments and recommend solutions to enhance effectiveness and employee engagement.
Employee Relations
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
HR Metrics and Reporting
Use data analytics and metrics to measure HR effectiveness and impact on business outcomes.
Provide regular reporting on HR metrics to senior leadership and use data to inform strategic decisions.
HR Policy and Compliance:
Liase with EHS to support our safety culture
Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
Manage and mitigate organizational risks through proactive HR policies and procedures.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic HR role.
Ability to travel 15%-25%
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience as a senior HR business partner or similar HR leadership role with a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
Prior experience in manufacturing, operations, or similar industry.
Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategies with business objectives.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional leadership and coaching skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate a rapidly changing business environment.
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
