Tasks
Develop and Maintain HR Compliance Knowledge
Begins to develop a current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the HR field.
Develops a working knowledge of HR information databases and searchable resources.
Keeps abreast of Document retention requirements; Organization of personnel files; I-9s
HR administration
Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects
Prepare Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
Proofread HR documents including audits, all-employee communications, and handbooks.
Refill paper in printer, and copier. Refill any supplies; organize files
Assist with Payroll and SUB pay process
Manage Customer Satisfaction
Maintain a satisfied level of customer service with customers both internal and external.
Properly handle employee requests through responsiveness, follow-up, and escalation.
Teamwork
Work proactively with other team members.
Prioritize activities for the best interest of the team when working on joint projects.
Handle requests and deliver quality solutions if able, or escalate the request to a more senior team member
Openly share new ideas and information with other team members.
Keep HR team apprised to avoid surprises and disappointed employees
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
High School Degree
Currently College Sophomore – Senior pursuing Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
Strong customer service skills
Problem solving capabilities
Ability to correctly make decisions involving employee issues/ problems including when to escalate to a more senior department member
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Exceptional organizational and planning skills
Detail oriented
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail
