Job Summary: OneSource EHS is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Hygienist to add to its team of EHS professionals. The Industrial Hygienist will be responsible for comprehensive Industrial Hygiene activities with an understanding of air monitoring methods, sample handling, data analysis, ventilation, radiation, ergonomics, hazard communication, use of air monitoring equipment and report writing while under the direction of a Certified Industrial Hygienist. This position offers competitive pay and opportunity for career advancement. Duties & Essential Job Functions: 1. Develop, implement, and monitor client programs for all industrial hygiene standards, systems and work processes. 2. Develop complex Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling plans for clients’ regulatory compliance needs. 3. Perform IH activities including, but not limited to, identification, assessment and control of potential chemical, physical and biological stressors in the workplace. 4. Perform exposure assessments by collecting samples of air, water, vapors, gases, dusts and other potentially toxic materials for analysis. 5. Manage exposure assessment data, including qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment documentation. 6. Conduct compliance audits and program assessments and develop action plans to close identified gaps. 7. Provide expertise and assistance to clients in developing and implementing compliance systems, programs, policies and procedures to ensure occupational exposures are adequately controlled and/or eliminated 8. Performs data entry related to industrial hygiene sampling campaigns. 9. Conduct incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure 10. Assists in the care and maintenance of industrial hygiene sampling equipment. 11. Drafts appropriate reports and presentations for management. 12. Provide recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.as potential exposures are identified. Other Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Basic knowledge of occupational stressors to include (heat stress, chemicals, radiation, ergonomics, noise, biological hazards, etc.) 2. Chemical sampling knowledge and techniques 3. Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene instrumentation and monitoring equipment 4. Proactive leadership and team-building skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization, including contractors 5. Knowledge of OSHA occupational health regulations, ANSI standards, NIOSH standards, ACGIH standards, etc. 6. Working knowledge of incident investigation and analysis tools (Cause Mapping, 5-Why’s, FMEA, etc.) 7. Solid interpersonal, influential, coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities 8. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently, but also oversee and mentor others. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 9. Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs. Qualifications: Required: 1. Five (5) plus years of experience in the field of Industrial Hygiene. 2. Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or closely related area of study from an accredited university or equivalent work experience. Preferred: 1. Seeking to become a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) 2. LDEQ Certified Asbestos Contractor Supervisor Certification. 3. Prior consulting experience. 4. Current and active AIHA member.
