NDT LEVEL II – $120 per diem, located in Newport News, VA
Job Description
Conduct NDT inspections on ship structures, hulls, and components using appropriate methods and techniques.
Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable maritime codes, standards, and specifications.
Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation.
Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address any identified issues.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and shipyard policies.
Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment.
Provide training and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
Qualifications
Certification as an NDT Level II Technician in one or more methods (UT, RT, MT, PT).
Minimum of (4) years of experience in NDT, preferably in a shipyard or maritime environment.
Strong understanding of NDT principles, techniques, and equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications related to shipbuilding and repair.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to work in various shipyard environments and conditions.
