Summary:
Project superintendent has full responsibility for the onsite production of the project. This responsibility includes directing craftspeople and subcontractors; providing quality control; assuring conformity to plans and specifications; maintaining sequences to meet schedule; maintaining short and long-term production schedules; conducting weekly job site coordination and safety meetings; scheduling equipment furnished by Nabholz; and administering job site safety program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Safety: Continual enforcement of safety rules and regulations, inspecting our self-performed work as well as all work performed, and observe methods and procedures of craft workers.
Elimination of unsafe work practices and making corrections when needed. Comply with company policies and OSHA standards and be aware of any updates to these standards.
Quality Control: Maintain excellent quality on projects from the beginning of the project, inspecting all work that is being done from start to finish of project. Maintain and do thorough worklist prior to punch-list.
Plan and supervise foreman and/or craft workers – includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule, and documenting actual hours worked.
Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
Maintain liaison with owner, engineers, and project manager to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work sequences, etc.) as required.
Maintain communications with Employee Services to resolve disputes, post all required materials in jobsite trailer, requisition manpower, safety issues, or visits, etc. as necessary.
Monitor craft compliance with project safety and contract requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Maintain liaison with subcontractors and other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
Perform additional assignments per General Superintendent’s direction.
This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
All other tasks as assigned.
Education/Skill Requirements :
Experience in underground utilities including water, sewer, and storm drainage installation, treatment plants, directional and/or auger boring, and general civil construction methods preferred.
Experience requirements include a four-year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
Experience in construction methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, bend, carry, pull, push, climb, and grasp.
Must be able to read plans, judge distances, understand others, and be easily understood by others.
Must have the visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
Physical Demands :
Ability to continuously sit, stand, or walk.
Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
Ability to work in heat or cold, work outside, and work in high elevations.
May lift and carry heavy objects 5 -25 pounds frequently, 25- 50 pounds often, and 50-100 pounds occasionally.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions continuously.
Work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions.
Some jobs expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise, or dangerous machinery. To avoid injury, workers in these jobs wear safety clothing, such as gloves, hardhats, protective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, or hearing.
While working in construction, laborers must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards.
