Overview of the Position Responsibilities :

The Construction Coordinator is responsible for determining the placement and marking the location of existing underground CATV plant to prevent cable damage during new construction. This critical role supports the Maintenance and/or Construction departments in repairing cable and new system design. Activities include but are not limited to working with Supervisors in Field Operations regarding the Engineer’s design and the placement of our network on the field as well as coordinating commercial and residential return on investment processes and serviceability.

What You Will Do:

Interprets system blueprints to determine location of aerial and underground facilities.

Uses locating machine to secure proper location of CATV system, mark underground cable facilities with spray paint and flags within allotted time frame.

Responds to and investigates reports of cut cable; make repairs to cable as necessary.

Maintains sense of urgency and consistently meet deadlines when responding to reports of cut cable.

Accurately completes paperwork associated with each work order and in the event of third-party damage to cable.

Provides the highest standard of quality, commitment, and courtesy in dealing with Bluepeak customers, employees, and industry colleagues.

Maintains clean and stocked assigned vehicle and equipment.

Assists network and construction departments with routine system repair and maintenance and new build out projects.

Supports communication and good working relationship with all local utilities, developers and permitting offices.

Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.

Ensures department’s compliance with the Company’s vehicle policy.

All other related duties as assigned.

Highschool diploma or GED required.

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Previous copper telephone, fiber and coax network experience preferred.

MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, OneNote.

Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

Strong customer service skills are required.

Must possess the ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules and regulations, standard operating procedures, company guidelines, training materials and other documents as required.

Ability to use assigned test equipment including but not limited to a volt OHM meter, and related copper, coax, and fiber testing equipment.

Ability to learn the skills to properly splice Copper, Fiber and Coax.

Ability to accurately maintain records, logs, reports, work orders, etc.

Ability to operate office equipment, scanner, copier, etc.

Ability to handle escalations and time-critical issues.

Demonstrated ability to read street maps, as-built maps and street project plans.
