Primary Purpose

The Key Account Manager (KAM) manages business development activities for the company driving sales activities and acquiring new business from key accounts and customers. This position is responsible for retaining top customers and nurturing those key relationships. The Key Account Manager will understand customer needs and cross-sell additional product and service offerings that will be valuable to the customer. Certain KAMs who will specialize in the government sector will have responsibilities and focus on opportunities that include city and county departments, school districts, parks & recreation departments and more.

Essential Functions

Seek opportunities for higher-level sales assets & responsible for relationships at the highest level regionally (Regional Commercial Construction and Sector Focused)

Create and implement a strategy for meeting sales performance targets

Leverage market data and analytics to define effective value propositions

Work closely with Sales VP and Director of Sales to create regional/area strategy for Key Account identification

Coordinate with various departments within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion

Identify key projects and opportunities in the region/area from key accounts and work with Territory Account Managers to pursue and close

Build the business within the region/area using a variety of sales techniques

Mentor and coach Territory Account Managers throughout selling process

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all USS products and services

Produce quotes and orders and document sales activities and leveraging business intelligence through Salesforce

Attend relevant industry events and conferences to build business

Perform other duties as assigned

KAMs assigned to the Government sector are also required to meet the following essential functions of the role:

Maintain a deep understanding of government purchasing requirements and compliance mandates

Work closely with the Legal department when dealing with government contracts to ensure compliance

Work closely with GM/Sales VP and Director of Sales to create market strategy for Government Account and opportunity identification

Identify key projects and opportunities in the market from government departments and work with Sales and Operations partners to pursue and close

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Strong PC proficiency (Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.)

KAMs assigned to the Government sector are also required to possess the following:

Knowledge of Government purchasing processes and compliance requirements

Ability to navigate and develop trusted relationships within government entities to identify opportunities, gain approved vendor status, build a pipeline, close deals, and establish ongoing recurring business

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.

Salary Range

$65,000.00 – $112,000.00 / year
