Senior Endoscope Repair Technician

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the HTM Manager, the Scope Repair Tech Sr. is accountable for installations, repairs, regular maintenance and calibration of Flexible and Inflexible Endoscopes at the component level. May offer guidance to Scope Repair Tech I and II staff. May offer in-service and personal training for equipment users on subjects such as electrical safety, proper operation and care of the endoscopic equipment. Will monitor the work of outside Scope Repair vendors to ensure quality standards are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Performs installations, regular maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on assigned flexible and inflexible endoscopes to ensure proper operation and function.
Performs all assignments in a competent and timely way according to current policies and procedures.
Monitors service provided by outside scope repair vendors, and accountable for quality control of service provided.
Establishes equipment baselines, performs inspections and evaluations, interprets test results and makes recommendations to solve performance deficiencies.
Installs, repairs and calibrates most classes of flexible and inflexible endoscopes at a component level.
Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections as assigned.
Uses diagnostic service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced.
Helps in the evaluation of new endoscopic equipment, accessories and supplies.
Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer’s instructions.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Associates Degree in biomedical equipment technology or electronics or equivalent training experience preferred.
8 years’ experience in Flexible or Inflexible Endoscope repair industry required.
International Certification Commission certificate preferred.
Has and maintains a safe driving record
Solid knowledge of computerized systems: recordkeeping, PM, work order systems, timekeeping, etc.
Have exceptional technical, mechanical, data-based and problem solving skills.
Physically able to reach, raise, work atop, move along the ground or see and work in tight and/or dim places.
Able to interact and communicate with all staff and management in a positive and professional way.
Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional way.
Able to work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION – Associates Degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE – 8 years of experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
