Hours Full-time, indicate working hours – Mon-Thurs, 7:30-5:30; Fri, 7:30-11:30
Summary of Position
Overall duties and responsibilities are performing clerical and office management activities in a professional manner and assisting the Department Chair and Director in insuring that all office and instructional functions of the Early Childhood are of the highest quality, insure the Child Development Center childcare records are in compliance with state standards and fully support the overall policies and goals of the College.
Minimum Required Education
High School or GED required.
Minimum Required Experience
Six years of wage earning clerical experience or certification/successful completion of relevant trade school plus two years earning clerical experience, or Associate’s Degree plus one year of wage earning clerical experience. A copy of certificates and/or college transcripts required with application for evaluation purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including MS Word and Excel and ability to learn Ellucian Colleague System.
Able to operate office equipment, such as copy machine, electronic calculator, fax machine, answer telephone (up to 10 telephone lines).
Pleasant personality and able to work with people.
Highly motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Fair and impartial when working with students and staff.
Communicate in the English Language (Read, Write and Speak) and have the ability to explain the program, enrollment procedures.
Must be able to write legibly. Speak to groups.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task and evaluate situations using sound judgement.
Management skills to include: budget preparation and management, bid evaluation and supply/equipment purchase procedures, office management, correspondence management, and EEO Policies.

Assist the Department Chair as needed. Use and operate withing the limits of set budgets, verify account balances on the budget summary. Prepare budget transfers and requisitions. Prepare and process travel request and travel vouchers as required. Assist in preparation for accreditation through National Association of Education for Yound Children ( NAEYC ).
