Description
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a dedicated full-time Psychologist II to join our UCLA Social Justice in Criminal Neuropsychology (SJCN) Clinic. In collaboration with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH), SJCN has developed the Conservatorship Assessment Training (CAT) program. This program addresses the urgent need for culturally responsive conservatorship assessments in Los Angeles County. You will primarily work with clients referred by the Mental Health Court or diversion courts, often returning to jail from the state hospital. Primary duties include:
Conduct forensic assessments to evaluate grave disability
Prepare and complete applications and petitions for clients
Provide expert witness testimony in court regarding LPS and Murphy Conservatorship criteria
Review clinical history, electronic medical records, state hospital records, and court/legal documents to inform assessments
Visit correctional facilities across LA County to assess clients
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to gather data and make referrals for appropriate client discharge plans
Supervise and train fellows in forensic psychology
Salary range: $60.11/hr – $79.30/hrQualifications
PhD or PsyD in Psychology
Valid CA Psychologist License
Minimum 1 year of postdoc experience in clinical or Forensic Psychology or Minimum 2 year postdoc in Neuropsychology
Ability to speak and write in more than one language (preferred)Prior experience training and supervising pre/post-doc trainees (preferred)
