Position Description

Tacoma Powers Power Management division is looking for a Residential Conservation Supervisor (Power Energy Conservation Analyst, Principal) to join their team! The position oversees the administration and implementation of conservation programs including those delivered through retail channels, residential low-income, rental and Multifamily, Heat Pump Water Heater, community agency and trade ally avenues. These programs acquire energy savings needed to meet I-937 requirements, and the objectives and goals identified in the Conservation Plan. The programs require high levels of customer interaction, satisfaction, and advanced technical knowledge. In addition to the programs, the Conservation Supervisor is responsible for managing the retail presence and activities, and installer Trade Ally Network. The position supervises program staff responsible for the implementation of programs: assigns duties, develops program procedures, trains staff, monitors performance and establishes goals; regularly meets with staff, provides feedback, identifies and resolves problems, identifies and corrects inefficiencies.

Responsibilities include:

Oversees implementation of the low-income, rental and Multifamily program; develops and implements the program strategy.

Identify, oversee and manage strategies, procedures and timelines for implementation of residential programs for low-income, rental and multifamily complexes.

Coordinate with other Residential and Commercial staff for a comprehensive approach to implementing conservation programs and services.

Identify opportunities to partner with property management companies, Housing Authorities and community agencies to leverage relationships with other multifamily properties and build awareness of residential conservation opportunities.

Ensures data collected meets program requirements, oversees contractor training, works with CES Planning group to add new products offers; develops program procedures; resolves customer and contractor issues; tracks and reports program activity, analyzes trends, forecasts savings, monitors program budgets.

Identify opportunities and responsible for the collaboration of programs between other City, County and community entities.

Develop and maintain relationships with residential community (property owners/manager, developers), trade allies (contractors, retailers) and community organizations (Community Services, Crime Prevention).

Identify, oversee and manage strategies, procedures and timelines for the distribution of residential programs information and conservation products with community groups.

Attend community meetings and partner with key groups on community events.

Coordinate with other Residential and Commercial staff to identify conservation opportunities.

Implement and coordinate strategic community outreach events.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in business or public administration, construction management, engineering or directly related field.

Minimum Experience

5 years experience in energy conservation or energy efficiency programs including 1 year prior lead and/or supervisory level.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

Washington State Drivers License

Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
