Manufacturing Director (Western Lumber)

Weyerhaeuser’s Western Lumber Manufacturing Director is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned manufacturing leader to have a significant impact on a key part of Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products business. Reporting to the Western Lumber Vice President, the Western Lumber Manufacturing Director will oversee 3-4 Lumber mills in Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, and/or Alberta. The successful candidate must reside within three hours driving distance of at least one of the Western Lumber mills(Lebanon, OR; Cottage Grove, OR; Longview, WA; Raymond, WA; Princeton, British Columbia; Grande Prairie, Alberta; and Drayton Valley, Alberta).The exact scope of responsibilities will depend on the candidate’s residence and experience.
Key areas of focus for this role will be:
Work with the Western Lumber Vice President to provide strategic direction for lumber manufacturing facilities
Provide cross-business leadership in areas of safety, reliability, OpX, and people development
Work collaboratively with support teams in HR, Safety, Reliability, Finance, Legal, Environmental Management, Supply Chain, and Sales and Marketing
Drive safety & reliability improvement
Target and drive next-level OpX opportunities
Accelerate technical improvements through training, innovation and best practice sharing

10 years wood products manufacturing management experience with demonstrated results in delivering transformational improvement and leadership
Demonstrated results in safety excellence
Extensive technical knowledge and/or line experience with lumber manufacturing processes
Experience leading or participating in strategic planning for a mill or geography
Managing significant budget responsibilities
Demonstrated results in achieving reliability & maintenance excellence
Excellent business and financial acumen, including business drivers and leverage points
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead other leaders, and a track record of increasing a team’s bench strength
Role model WY people principles and demonstrate core values
Must currently possess the legal ability to work for WY in Canada or the United States
Must currently possess the ability to travel to Canada or the United States
Ability to travel 50%
PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s or advanced Degree in relevant field of study (Engineering, Forestry, Technical, or Business)
Labor management experience
Experience successfully managing or gate-keeping major capital project scopes
Lean/Six Sigma certification
Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $170,000 – $255,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 30% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
