Summary You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the STUDENT CONTROL DEPARTMENT of OFFICER TRAINING COMMAND. Responsibilities You will provide guidance to students on a wide range of topics which shall include, but is not limited to, Servicemens Group Life Insurance (SGLI), reenlistment/retirements, separation/discharge, tuition assistance, and pay/advances/allotments. You will screen students service records for school requirements such as citizenship, clearances, bonuses, DD-214s, and required documents for entry into Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). You will serve as the critical link between an individual Sailor, the command, the supporting personnel support organization, Navy Personnel Command (NPC), and Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) all students assigned. You will serve as the liaison with the Transaction Service Center (TSC) and provides direct support to all students for functions including all areas of personnel, pay and records. You will utilize computer hardware and software programs to compose or type a variety of naval and business letters, memoranda, directives, statistical and narrative reports, endorsements, messages and forms. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Maintaining program data records to ensure they meet established guidelines; 2) Collecting, reviewing, and processing records and correspondence for a program, ensuring accuracy of the information and timely submissions to meet deadlines; 3) Managing various correspondence and phone calls, as well as liaison with various organizations, personnel, and customers related to the program; 4) Preparing correspondence using computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, and tracks due dates ensuring all actions are complete.
