Fuse offers a hybrid working environment. Fuse employees are welcome to work remotely 2 days per week (Wednesday and Friday) and work in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to collaborate with coworkers and clients. At this time, we are only interviewing candidates based in or willing to relocate to Vermont.
Public Relations Director
Job Summary:
Fuse is seeking an experienced public relations professional to oversee communications initiatives for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to innovative youth category leaders. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Relations Director to spearhead communication initiatives, elevate our clients marketing efforts, and lead agency PR plans.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of media relations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for storytelling. This role includes strategic development of public relations initiatives and tactics, media pitching, daily communication with clients, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of all services, and working with direct reports as well as account teams to maintain the client’s strategy throughout all aspects of the business.
Candidates must leverage their expertise in youth marketing to consult on all projects. The ability to collaborate with team members as well as work independently is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies that align with client objectives and enhance brand reputation. Think creatively and innovatively to develop custom solutions for client work.
Media Relations: Cultivate, maintain and leverage relationships with key media contacts; manage press outreach, pitches, and media events. Pro-active approach to outreach.
Content Creation: Oversee the creation of strategic messaging, press releases, and other media materials that effectively communicate client messages.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of PR professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and driving professional development.
Campaign Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PR strategies into broader marketing strategies and campaigns.
Measurement and Reporting: Analyze PR campaign effectiveness and prepare reports for clients that demonstrate ROI and key performance metrics.
Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of PR innovation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
8 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on agency and / or brand experience preferred.
Action Sports / Outdoor Sports experience required.
Proven track record of successful PR campaigns and media placements.
Strong network of media contacts and an understanding of the media landscape.
Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think strategically and execute with precision.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Passionate and looking to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally (including weekends) for client meetings, media meetings & pitching as well as for events.
The starting salary range for this role is $80-$110K depending on experience.
